Taormina railway station

"There is no doubt that Taormina built its touristic fame on the eccentricities, odd and strange ways of its visitors, on the "amours singuliers" (according to Peyrefitte) and private vices (but far from being secret) of his barons...

There are so many colorful stories about the characters of these years... The visitors, the so-called "barons", were travelling to Taormina in a special train, created just for them: the London-Paris-Taormina. In Rome, a carriage from Berlin was added. It was called "The Train of the Barons". In its sleepers was gathered the flower of European pederasts.
